Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Eye Cream Review

Γεια σας! I've got a quick review of the Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Eye Cream/Brush.

Also an update on the Olay review I did HERE, I am no longer much of a fan of the lotion, it is difficult to rub in & has a tendency to roll up into pieces when wiped (if that makes any sense) But it did not break me out, so that's a plus.

Anyway onto my current review.

I was sent this product to review (not by Olay), and originally I was pretty excited.

It is suppose to make under-eye circles disappear, well its not that great at it but I did find it nicely moisturizing and originally I thought the color would be too light but it does seem to adjust to my skin. You press the back end to make product come out the brush.

After a few days of use I noticed when I wipe under my eye the product sort of rolls up or crumbles onto my finger(I'm noticing a trend with Olay). NOT appealing at all.

Basically I think its a nice idea and an okay product but I certainly wouldn't pay the price tag for it.

Crabtree & Evelyn Goatmilk Lotion

The other day i tried this lotion as a tester & it was very calming & nice. Crabtree & Evelyn is the brand, every time i think of them i think of my mom & her avocado shower gel that she loves. Now i will also think of their Goatmilk Body Cream, after the fact that i thought it was calming i read the package saying its meant to be comforting.

This is great 15 mins. before bedtime (i say 15 because i don't like to stick to the sheets lol).

A little pricey (all their products are) for $28.

When i think of goats lately i think of Greece, my friends and i were walking past a field of goats & my friend says "O Nikos exei ena katsiki", which if you've seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding (more than once at least xD) you'll remember the beginning when they're in Greek school resiting this line; it means "Nikos has one goat". It made me laugh (this won't be funny unless you've watched the movie too much haha)

Lush-Honey I Washed the Kids

FYI-my font is screwed up i hope to be able to fix it soon!

Yesterday my sister, mom & i went to the mall & were enticed by the Lush store (you seriously can't just walk by).

I've been wanting the Honey I Washed the Kids soap for a while so i gave in:

I love it, the smell is amazing & its moisturizing. P.S. that's real honeycomb on top!

It's kind of expensive but their stuff is great.

We love this, and we're not vanilla people either. The scent on your skin is even better than the bar itself. So moisturizing & very long lasting, i literally want to use it all the time lol.

I finally have a few days off work so i've been trying to get everything together for my trip to Greece, which i leave in a few days for! I feel well prepared on one hand & not on the other. My mom has instructions to feed Kairah while i'm gone lol.

Since i don't like sleeping not in my own bed we'll see how much i sleep the first few nights. But maybe i'll be so exhausted it won't matter :D

I don't think i can upload pictures from my ipod to Blogger so i'll link my Tumblr account before i go because that has an app.

Also if anyone has any international travel advice you want to share, i'm all ears.

(i have travelled before but helpful advice is always welcome!)

Eos Moisturizing Shave Cream Review

I have one week left of school! I am worried about passing my math though, please pray! Which brings me to another topic i wanted to mention, i am always happy to take anyone's prayer requests!

Anywho on to today's review, Eos Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream.

Here's what Eos says:

-great packaging (like most eos)

-works well for wet shaving

-nice smell

con's

-does not work for dry shaving

-expensive ($3.99 @ Walgreens)

-requires more rinsing to unclog razor (but i can live with that)

As far as dry shaving; do not attempt, i got horrid razor burn after and a few cuts.

Over all its a good shaving cream when using water, just too expensive & no good for dry shaving.

Revlon & Eos

I went to Walmart the other day & picked up these items. Eos lip balm sphere, which i reviewed HERE, & Revlon nail polish in Cloud.  

My sister & i were watching TV the other day & i noticed her nails looked awesome, so i asked her what it was & she told me Cloud by Revlon, so upon stumbling to the cosmetics isle at Walmart i happen to see the last one left & paid the $4.79 it cost.

Here are some shots in different light to help you see the color, its like a pale lavender with grayish-blue tones. It took 3 coats before i was satisfied with the color.

I absolutely adore it!

And the Eos sphere in Summer Fruit, smells amazing, just like tropical fruit!

Randoms & E.l.f. Mist & Set Review

It snowed like crazy today, the roads were so bad & on top of it i had a bad stomach ache but luckily i have the rest of the day off from work & school. There's also been big news in my house, yesterday i found out we'll be moving, it won't be in the same village but not far, just into a house that works better for our family & that is cheaper. I still hope to move to Texas but i will have to wait until i am done with school.

~Onto the Review~

I've had this for a while now but am finally getting around to reviewing it.

The e.l.f. makeup Mist & Set is $3.00 from e.l.f.

I was beyond excited to get this product because i had heard some good things & the hype was crazy at the time, so i bought two when it finally came back in stock. ..one leaked on the way :( but i was so excited for this to make my face dewy & have the makeup be more natural & seamless.

So basically i was thoroughly disappointed & here's why; first off i had heard the smell was bad & they weren't kidding!..but i was willing to over-look that. Secondly when i sprayed it wasn't even a mist but more of a stream, which obviously defeats the purpose. I also couldn't tell a difference in the length of my foundation. I didn't like that it just sits on the skin too & takes a long time to absorb.

Pro's

-good idea

-cheap price

Con's

-horrid smell

-doesn't do anything special

-spray isn't a mist

-doesn't moisturize

Needless to say it was a waste of money for me, i have to point out that some people do like it but in my opinion it's not worth it.

Did anyone else try it?

TRESemme Waterless Foam Shampoo Review

I've been running out of my dry shampoo you can read about HERE, so i was at Target & saw TRESemmé's Waterless Foam Shampoo for dry to normal curly hair. I'm like oh cool i've got to try a foam that is a waterless shampoo & since my hair is so long & thick it takes a long time to dry & 'de-fluff' lol so its much more convenient to dry shampoo from time to time.

It was about $4.76 i think, at Target.

I have to say i'm not loving this one;

Pro's

-it smells really good

-nice packaging

-cheaper than a higher end waterless shampoo

Con's

-leaves hair(near the root) greasy

-does not absorb oil

-in general doesn't do what its suppose to

Yes it left my hair greasy for like the top 5 inches of hair, below that it made it smell good when it was dry but whats the point it didn't do its job.

So in the end it sounds great in theory but in actuallity TRESemmé has a lot of work to do on this one.

May they can redeem themselves on their dry shampoo, i'm betting that actually works because i have used dry shampoos & i get the concept & i think they do too lol, so i won't count that one out yet.

Over-all don't waste your dinero$$.

Nefertiti-A Novel

As promised my review of the book Nefertiti by Michelle Moran

(without spoiling it for anyone).

The book is told by Mutnodjmet, the younger sister of Nefertiti. It is about her life just as much as Nefertiti's which i liked. It follows their lives starting at their early teen years.

It has love and loss like any good book, but i definitely felt the loss weigh a little heavier in this book than i expected. When dealing with history and things that happened at the time it gives you a chance to see what it might have been like for them.

Though this book is based history every detail in the story is not factual as that would be completely impossible without Mutnodjmet herself talking to the author. But i do feel for the most part it feels like the majority of the story could have happened. I don't like when a historical book feels like the author didn't even try for example when they use modern day swear words in their book..like WHAT that drives me crazy haha, but luckily i felt like this book was well written. Over all i really did enjoy reading it though i liked her next book The Heretic Queen better but they are two different stories.

Also an update on my Egyptology in 2011 post, concerning the tomb KV63 they speculated belonged to Queen Ankesenamun here is a cut & paste article about it:

After excavating the tomb KV63 it is speculated that it was designed for Ankhesenamun due to its proximity to the tomb of Tutankhamun's KV62. Also found in the tomb were coffins (one with an imprint of a woman on it), women's clothing, jewellery and natron. Fragments of pottery bearing the partial name Paaten were also in the tomb. The only royal person known to bear this name was Ankhesenamun, whose name was originally Ankhesenpaaten. However there were no mummies found in KV63 so it remains just speculation.

Bummer i was hoping she was in there!

Country Strong

My sister & i went to see Country Strong tonight & really liked it! Probably my favorite song from it was 'Give in to Me' sang by Garrett Hedlund & Leighton Meester. He is a really good actor & i love the way he looks at her in this video: (he just needs to shave ha)

He is so darn cute & seems like a decent person & not your typical Hollywood guy. I've watched some interviews with him & am impressed. I was a fan of him in the movie Troy as Achilles' cousin & in Four Brothers as well as Georgia Rule so i'm glad to see him get more lead roles. :)

Anyway good movie, if you like country go see it!

Leighton did a great job too! This is the kinda music she should sing.

Gifts & a Review; Bed Head Deep Waver

-easy to use

-has heat settings

-swivel cord

-gives defined waves that are natural looking

con's

-if you have thick hair it doesn't do a good job so you must section off smaller pieces in turn making it take longer

I like it & will use it now & then; my hair is naturally wavey so i mostly use it at the ends.

The above are from Bath & Body Works, Moonlight Path lotion & shower gel ..& those socks are scented!! They have the clean cotton scent & are sooo soft with grippies on the bottom.

Review: e.l.f. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

In my last e.l.f. haul i bought the Waterproof Eyeliner Pen & today i'm reviewing it. First how fabulous is it that you can get this for $1!!?! & its waterproof! Now that alone should be enough to make you try it but in case you need more info for your disicion here are my pro's & con's;

pro's

-waterproof

-$1

-good color; black as coal

-great for travel

-easy,compact, no mess

con's

-sponge tip doesn't seem to hold enough product to do a full (not patchy) 'sweep' without turning the tip.

But it works fine as long as you go over it a few times. Over-all good product i recommend!

Wet n' Wild Lipstick Review

I've had these lipsticks awhile but never got around to reviewing them. I got them in a buy 1 get 1 half off at Walgreens for around $5 for both. *$2.99 each i believe.

(I apologize for the picture quality not being so great, my camera is dying on me)

On the left is Bare it All & the right is Mauve Outta Here.

Bare it All is obviously the more natural looking of the two and the one i wear more often. Mauve Outta Here is a brighter pink that the name lets on & something i would only wear occasionally.

Con's i have are they aren't very moisturizing & need lipgloss.

Pro's are that they are semi long lasting, nice'n cheap and can be easy found.

Korres-Kings & Queens: Nefertiti

Its been a while since i've had a chance to post since school & work have consumed my life but i wanted to do a quick review on the Korres Kings & Queens: Nefertiti body milk & shower gel.

Kings & Queens' Nefertiti is honey & made with natural products including of course real honey, which you can smell.

pro's:

smell-sweet honey

consistency-rich & smooth

gel is very luxurious

nice moisture that seems to last

con's:

the price is a little high for me $9 & $11-(i bought these off ebay)

i can't put this on before bed; i can smell it all night-too much for bed

I would repurchase the gel but probably not the lotion because i rarely use it.

Sleek Nail Polish Review/Jewelry Haul

So anyway onto Sleek's nail polish in Turquoise,

First off its a beautiful color i definitely am hooked.

I have 1 negative is that it does chip a lot. :(

It was about $8 on ebay.

These two rings i bought at Charlotte Russe, in a 2 for $8 deal.

I thought the turquoise went great together! I love it its very Native American.

The bow is so darn cute i just couldn't put it down; so feminine, pretty, & delicate.

Isn't it adorable!?!

I'm very happy with them & for such a good price too!
