e.l.f. Brushes Review

Geia sas girls! Time to review my new e.l.f. brushes!

So i was really wanting a good eyeshadow blending brush, the one i've been using is really junky. E.l.f. has them soo cheap that i had to buy it only $1!! I cannot say enough good things about this brush, its so beyond worth the price (don't get me wrong i'm happy its $1! lol). It is a great blending brush & holds the right amount of color. I feel so professional when i use it lol. If you are wanting one i say buy it, it won't disappoint. Click HERE so check it out on e.l.f.

Then i bought what they call their 'Powder Brush' but i bought it for foundation.(i put the foundation right on the brush then apply) Let me just say best foundation brush for $3 for sure! I'm happy i bought it, the only thing i slightly worry about is the handle breaking with time & wear because as you'll see in the video link i'm about to show you hers is broke, but she taped it lol. So I saw this brush from Weylie on Youtube HERE. She cracks me up lol. Anyway she uses it for her foundation. To check out this brush click HERE. The only negative i have with e.l.f. is their shipping costs are $6.95 & you don't have the option of what kind of shipping YOU want.

Also Cherry Culture is having a 20% off store-wide sale until the 30th of June. Check them out HERE. I might be naughty & take them up on the offer. :D

Good Food Edition/My Yummy Prize

Geia sas ladies! This yummy looking 'dessert' i have been obsessed with lately. It is Light & Fit Vanilla Yogurt, dark chocolate mini chips, & sliced almonds. Yummm! Its better than most cake & cookies to me, which my health can appreciate!

This vanilla yogurt is better than any regular vanilla yogurt i've ever had, its so good plain or with berries or whatever you want to add! I have gone through a lot of it in the past week & a half.

I had a Panera stop this week which lead to buying this amazing bread; Tomato Basil. This is one of my favs, it has so much flavor. The top is sorta sweet, while the middle is a little more tangy i guess. But soo good! You should try it!

So i won a giveaway, shocking because i rarely win things lol, it was Simply Life's Don Sabrosa Salsa giveaway. I won THREE jars of this yummmyy salsa. Roasted Garlic, Blueberries Peaches & Honey, & Black Bean & Corn. My favorite is the Roasted Garlic though they are all good. My sister thought the Blueberry one was too sweet but i really liked it, its my 2nd fav. They say 'hot' but they aren't too spicy, just right. My mom really likes them too. So a big thank you to Simply Life & Don Sabrosa!

I am now starting to dry our own oregano since we have so much of it & we use it dry more than fresh because of the strength. Above are a few sprigs i cut for drying.

More recipes coming soon! Talk to you all very soon!

*Coastal Scents Haul*

Geia sas lovely chicas! My stuff from Coastal Scents arrived yesterday but i was too tired to put up a post so today i have my CS haul. I really have an unhealthy love of online shopping so i have a few more posts coming that will include some more items i purchased. But for real don't you just love that feeling when you open the mailbox & you have a PACKAGE!!! Its instant joy!

So 1st up we have the CS gel liners. If you'll remember a few posts ago i announced their liner sale; buy 2 get 1 free. Well i took them up on that offer & bought one in true black, royal purple, & Envious. I still want one in 24 K Gold but since i just bought a gold eyeshadow i decided to wait on that one before my gold obsession took over.

My 1st impression of them is a good one. They come in cute little frosted pots & the colors are great. I do want to mention they cost $6.95 each, which was a little pricey for me as far as CS goes yet still not bad. But they go on very smooth & i was also pleased with how much i liked them, being these are the 1st gel liners i have ever owed as i have been in love with liquid for a long time. So i had to buy a brush to use with them, i chose the Black Taklon Angle Liner Brush (pictured below).

I wasn't sure about the size of this brush when i bought it, i was worried it might be a little to big but i was happy to see that it works perfectly with the gel liners & is a great size for my eyes. ...& for only $1.85 i was willing to take that chance. What a good brush for the price, i recommend it for sure!

The next brush i purchased is the Italian Badger Angle Blush Brush for $6.99. Good price, good brush, simple as that. Its firm without being too rough for your face & i use for blush/bronzer & contouring.

And the final item i purchased from CS is the Basic Essentials Kabuki Brush for only $4.50! This another good price that i don't have to feel guilty about. The brush was a little smaller than i expected but it works well. I also didn't notice any shedding of the brushes when i washed them before use.

For a TV review: Last night i also watched a new show on ABC called Rookie Blue about rookie cops. It was okay but the thing that really bothered my sister & I is how many of the things the police officers said & how they acted seemed unrealistic. BUT i think they are setting up a love triangle between a new female cop & two detectives..now that's something to entertain us haha. I don't know if i'll continue to watch it but we'll see.
Talk to you ladies soon!
Oooohh & Congrats to team USA, you guys amaze everyone!! Keep going strong with our support!

Amazing Recipe: Blackened Chicken Salad w/ Mango Salsa

Geia sas ladies! I have such a yummy & healthy recipe for you today, you're gonna love it; Blackened Grilled Chicken Salad with Black Bean, Mango and Tomato and Homemade Creamy Chili Cilantro Dressing.
I found this recipe from Trish over at My Daily SAHM Life.
I'll just post her exact recipe & tell you what i tweaked after:
For dressing:
1 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup reduced fat sour cream
1/4 cup mayo
1 4oz. can diced green chilies, drained
1 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro
1/2 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Fiesta Ranch Dip mix
I think you could use a half packet of taco seasoning here if you have it.

Place all ingredients in blender and puree till well blended and smooth.
Pour into covered container and place in refrigerator.
1 point for 2 Tablespoons

For Black Bean, Mango and Tomato Salad:
1 large mango(es), diced, divided (about 1 3/4 cups)
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
3 tbsp water
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp table salt
15 oz. can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup tomato(es) diced
1/2 cup sweet onions, diced
1/4 cup mint leaves, or cilantro, fresh, cut into thin slivers
I used cilantro this time. I'll definitely try mint sometime this summer.
1 tbsp canned jalapeno peppers, or fresh, minced
I used canned. Fresh would be great too.

In a large bowl, mash 1/4 cup of diced mango with a fork; whisk in lime juice, water, oil, cumin and salt.
My mangoes were plenty ripe but I still found it too difficult to mash them with a fork so I put all this in the blender and pureed it. Then poured this over all the other ingredients in a large bowl.

Add remaining diced mango, beans, tomato, onion, mint or cilantro and jalapeno to bowl; toss to mix and coat. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate up to 1 day. Yields about 1/2 cup per serving.

For grilled blackened chicken:
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
blackened seasoning
I used Cajun's Choice brand

Heat outdoor grill to 400 degrees.
Generously coat both sides of chicken breasts with Cajun seasoning.
Grill 5 minutes per side or till cooked through.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Cut into 1/2 inch slices.

For each serving place 2 cups of salad greens on plate. Top with 1 cup of the black bean salad, 4 oz. of the cooked chicken. Top with 2 Tablespoons of dressing.

Okay sounds great right?!? Well the most significant change i made was instead of adding 1 4oz. can of green chilies i used tomatoes & green chilies in can. So not that big of a deal but it was incredible, i also added a bit more cilantro. I did use fresh jalapeño pepper instead of canned too.

The color is a bit off in this picture; it was a little more orange colored. But wow the flavor!

In this awesome salsa i used both mint(fresh from the garden!) & cilantro though the recipe says either or. AND i used no salt (yay!) because it had flavor enough without it & of course we should try to reduce salt intake when we can. I loved how all the strong flavors held there own but at the same time combined well without being too over-powering.

I really hope you girls try it, its so worth it!

*Huge Sigh* sadly Greece lost in today's match vs Argentina but it was a great try since Argentina is expected to be in the very top of this competition. They worked so hard it was hard to see them lose, but at least Sotiris Ninis & Nikos Spiropoulos got to play :)

Talk to you all soon & let me know if you try this!!

My Ronaldo Jersey & Today's Match

Geia sas ladies!! I am so beyond excited that my Reál Madrid Ronaldo jersey & shorts(which i got as a b-day present) came today! I wish i had the jersey he wears in the World Cup as its #7, which is my favorite number, my birthday date, & when i played volleyball in high school it was my number. Butttt i am super happy to have gotten this jersey!

It fits great & even though the shorts fit, they hug my booty a little too tight for my taste haha but i expected that since these are a child's XL. But it was either that or a man's size which would fall off me.

If you couldn't already tell he's my favorite athlete ever...lol!

The '.com' on the jersey worked out great in this case lol.

Above is Cristiano in his Real Madrid get uniform. Though i'm not sure why on the left picture his name isn't on the jersey..hmm oh well.

So onto today's match by Portugal..talk about amazing!! They annihilated N.Korea 7-0!! Craziness one after the other in the 2nd half.....& here in typical CR7 style...

His goal was quite funny, it was more of a juggling act so much that even he laughed at it lol.

Ah yes always entertaining. :)
